I have Vista SP 1, nvidia 8800GTS with 177.83 driver, and 2 monitors, the secondary being a philips 1080p hdtv on an hdmi cable from the video card. Finally I have the resolution settings correct for the monitors in Vista, this only took a week to figure out. I now have a new ...
Three monitor setup25 Aug 2008 22:40 GMT2
I'm currently using NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS on two 19 inch Samsung monitors.
I need to get one more monitor.
Most likely it'll be a 22 inch which would then become my primary.
What video card should I get?
ati 1300 pro to nvidia 7800gt25 Aug 2008 21:04 GMT5
I gave a friend the 7800GT to try before he pays me $50 for it.  He says
his ATI 1300Pro ran his games better.  That can't be right, can it?
What is wrong with Vista and video drivers?24 Aug 2008 09:11 GMT6
I have installed various versions of the nvidia driver for the 8800gts many times and the same problem occurs each time. If I can set the resolutions I need (not possible on all driver versions), they are gone next time I boot vista. My target is 1920x1440 for the display, and ...

I've tried Nurien, Warmonger, F@H with success. The Fluid demo merely
fails as soon as I click it, oh well. There are a few more substantial
tech demos available. It's a very complete package and I'm still
-- >  Black Screen upon game start....?19 Aug 2008 04:14 GMT5
I recently updated my drivers for my 8800 GTX card and now find that
almost all my games start with a black screen now - the audio works
however so I know the game is booting.  I have tried the usual
suspects like a Directx upgrade, reinstall of drivers, etc.

Tried to use a DVI to HDMI cable to run a 16:9 display, and it just
won't
do it. I get overscan, or very bad underscan. Anybody else have this
problem?

A few SLI questions please13 Aug 2008 22:39 GMT6
I have a second identical video card on the way and have a few basic
questions for anyone familiar with an SLI setup.
1.  Is there any configuration required?  BIOS?  Or once the second card
is in, powered, and bridged to the first card it just automatically works?
eVGA GF 9600 GT fast as the dickens12 Aug 2008 01:10 GMT9
AquaMark3d benched this $120 card at 176,694.
Faster than my BFG 8800 GTO which benched at about 155,000.
I had not even thought about upgrading my 8800 until
I saw this on my test bench. Holy cat!  And what I really
7800GTX stuck at 275 core08 Aug 2008 03:30 GMT7
I just got my brothers eVGA 7800GTX OC and it's supposed to be clocked at
490MHz core. To start with it was but when I tried hybernating the computer
I got a message that the card had been lowered to a lower core to protect
it. After this it's stuck at 275MHz and I can't change ...
Newsreader message filters (somewhat off topic)06 Aug 2008 18:39 GMT9
I'd like the ability to killfile all THREADS begun by a particular poster.
Not just the initial post, but also all the follow-on posts in the thread.
I currently use Windows Mail as a newsreader, but that doesn't seem to have
the flexibility in message rules to accomplish this ...
