| Problems with 6600GT and Quake 3 engine | 30 Nov 2005 23:53 GMT | 5 |
I fried my old mobo and had to get a new one. I opted for the GIGABYTE GA-K8U Socket 754 ULi M1689 ATX AMD, but now videos and any game built with the Quake 3 engine runs horribly. I still get a good fps in HL2 or Unreal though.

| SLI with different manufacturer? | 30 Nov 2005 23:51 GMT | 2 |
I just built a new computer using a DFI LanParty mobo, and I purchased an XFX 7800GT video card. I have plans of getting another video card to use the SLI. I've read that you need to have the same card manufacturer. I've also heard the contrary from other places.

| which 7800 video card should I get? | 30 Nov 2005 06:47 GMT | 3 |
Im upgrading my gaming machine and ditching the X800XL for 7800. Which 7800 is the best performance for the price? The BFG7800GTX gets top ratings but maybe I can save some money by just overclocking a regular 7800. mike

| 6200 64 bit or 5500 128 bit? | 30 Nov 2005 00:50 GMT | 8 |
I'm a relative noob looking to upgrade to a $xx card. I was looking at a eVGA Geforce 6200 256-A8-N341-LX Video Card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130233 before I read about concerns in the group about only being a 64 bit

| Opening Pipes on a 7800GT ? | 29 Nov 2005 23:30 GMT | 6 |
I've got a eVGA 7800GT CO graphics card (overclocked to 470 out of the box) on its way, and while I can certainly use it as is, I understand that it can be modified (re-flashed I assume) to open up the remaining four pipes and thereby increase its performance. Where can I learn ...

| Gamma adjustment | 29 Nov 2005 22:10 GMT | 5 |
Hi, I've just gone the 7800 GTX route after a long spell with ATI cards. The ATI drivers have an option to adjust gamma in both desktop and full screen 3d. I've tried in vain to do the same thing with the Nvidia control panel.

| Anyone use colour profiles? | 29 Nov 2005 20:53 GMT | 1 |
Are you meant to import your monitor's ICC colour profile into the Nvidia forecware drivers? The forceware users guide only describes how to do it, not why you might want to.

| Best drivers for GeForce4 Ti4200? | 28 Nov 2005 17:39 GMT | 1 |
Out of curiosity, some time ago I bought an FX 5500/128MB for one computer, replacing the old GeForce4/64MB. Big performance drop on 3DMark2000, 3DMark2001, and AquaMark 3. So finally I put the GeForce4 back in. Currently I'm running 71.84 drivers which I'd downloaded some time ...
