The HD 4850 is available now, the HD 4870 should be announced for
Welcome me back to the fold27 Jun 2008 23:11 GMT3
I've been using Nvidia cards in my main PC exclusively for the last couple
of years and the last ATI card I bought was the X800XL. Just ordered a 4870
so will be booting the 8800GT out of my main PC very soon. This will be on
Vista64 so hope the drivers don't give me any issues ...
RS485/M BR#23931 boot meesage26 Jun 2008 21:09 GMT2
I have a DELL Vostro 1000 laptop. The video card is the Integrated ATI
Radeon Xpress 1150 HyperMemory adaptor. SiSoft's system information
diagnostic tool says the adaptor's part/model number is RS485M. Now
when I boot the laptop this number is flashed to the display before
Sapphire HD 4850 No Factory Seal26 Jun 2008 06:45 GMT2
Bought a Sapphire HD 4850 from Newegg. It arrived without a factory seal.
I've bought several Sapphire cards before and they always came sealed.
Newegg said they had no idea. Is it possible for a factory fresh card not to
have a seal?

AGP rant18 Jun 2008 16:27 GMT20
AGP variants almost boggle the mind and make it a nightmare to match
a video card to a motherboard.
With rare exception, makers of video boards only tell you the "X part
(1X, 2X, 4X, 8X) and nothing else.
What should I upgrade to? (from Radeon Xpress 200)18 Jun 2008 06:52 GMT1
I want to be able to use two monitors at least (only one port on mobo)
and perhaps faster graphics although I don't really
do much in the way of  games but I guess better
graphics can do no harm.

Problem with old ATI Rage pro driver and OpenGL?14 Jun 2008 15:48 GMT2
I've downloaded the recommended driver for an old Rage Pro card from
the ATI site, wme-j5-30-1-b02.exe. But when I execute a program to
test its Opengl performance, I get "This program has performed an
illegal function etc" in module ATIO9XAE.DLL.
DRIVER ISSUES14 Jun 2008 04:43 GMT3
Hi,  I just got 2 new video cards and installed the drivers from the
internet instead of the ones on cd(box).
I was expecting a great improvement over my onboard video card, I mean a
huge difference but no,  it's faster  but just ok.
Theater 550 Vista07 Jun 2008 00:49 GMT2
Hi ! I bought a theater 550 pcie last month, and placed it in my
computer, a c2d 2.13GHz, 2G, X1300 PRO passive cooling. I quickly came
to vista media center, and after setting all parameters accordingly, I
saw a big lag problem when watching cable TV. Most of the time, after
TV Wonder Pro Woe06 Jun 2008 03:06 GMT11
TV Wonder Pro - when it initializes, the audio is reset to MAX.
(Which causes audio distortion when recorded)
This occurs whether ATI Media center or Beyond TV accesses tuner.
One can manually adjust audio, but it is overridden whenever the card
Recent series of 9800 Pro not working for multiple monitors?05 Jun 2008 10:39 GMT11
I've been using a 9800 Pro for a couple of years with a single monitor. My
wife has been using an AIW with two monitors. It recently died. I gave her
my 9800 Pro, which is working fine for her two-monitor system.
I bought a 2nd monitor and purchased another 9800 Pro. It didn't play ...

Is it me or is v8.5 Vista Catalyst driver (upgraded from previous
versions) bad? I noticed my Vista's log in screen can't be clicked (have
to use the keyboard navigation). If I remove the login screen and use
one user in Vista, then I cannot click on my Start Menu, task bar,
