ATITool Question30 Nov 2005 23:08 GMT3
I'm using ATITool Version 0.24 to overclock my AIW X800XT.  Although I
saved the overclock settings, I have to manually re-load them every time
I boot up my PC.
Can anyone explain to me how I can get the overclocked Core and Memory

I need some advice...right now I have a 2 ghz Athlon with 9600pro, and cant
seem to run Far Cry, Half Life 2 (tech demo/lighting) at 1600x1200 w/o
choppiness. Performance wise, should I increase the CPU from 2ghz to an AMD
3500 (and get a socket 939 mb) or go the video card route? ...

Fan on my ATI card just died :(30 Nov 2005 20:17 GMT8
The fan on my ATI Radeon 9800 Pro fan just died.  I'm unable to send it
back to the manufacturer because I'm living on the furthest corner of
civilized society, and the shipping costs would be more than a brand
new card.

Besides tweaking, what else is lost if Catalyst is not installed?
X800XL Driver Installation Error30 Nov 2005 11:30 GMT7
When installing 3dConnect drivers for this 3d Connect card, driver error
comes up and says that I should install VGA driver first, as there was some
type of problem.
Anyone have this issue?
Need hi-res photo of Sapphire Radeon 9800pro30 Nov 2005 02:43 GMT5
I was installing an arctic cooler fan on my card to replace the stock
one that froze up, and when I put everything back together the card
didn't work.  I think I could have knocked one of those teeny little
resistors off the back of the card, but I can't be sure there was one
Getting an LCD that takes advantage of my ATI card?29 Nov 2005 15:36 GMT2
I currently have a 21" CRT - I've had it quite a while since the colors are
rich, the screen is bright and it has great resolution. The issue is that I
want an even BIGGER display. I've started reading up on LCDs. I've been
reading many threads about "ghosting" due to slow ...
9600 for SFF machine, or -- ?29 Nov 2005 15:29 GMT8
I'm about to build a small form factor machine, a Biostar iDEQ 210V with
Sempron 2300+ and WinME. This will be for playing games, including older
Win9x games, so I don't need a whoop-a.s video card, and the 200W power
supply of this unit also inclines me toward something not too ...

Why is Microsoft dotnet 1.1 essential for installing catalyst 5.8?29 Nov 2005 13:53 GMT16
I read on this Newsgroup that the TV Tuner works satisfactorily with
Catlyst 5.8 for the Radeon AIW 8500 DV videocard. The release notes for
Catalyst 5.8 say that Microsoft Dotnet 1.1 Must be installed for using
Catalyst 5.8. I fail to understand what features of dotnet does a
AIW 9600 Pro and Windows Media Center 200529 Nov 2005 06:52 GMT2
Is there any way to use the TV and FM features of my AIW 9600 Pro using
Windows Media Center 2005?  I have installed the Catalyst drivers for Media
Center, but they do not provide the TV tuner capability.
Using LCD TV as a monitor?29 Nov 2005 05:40 GMT9
I have a very large desk and was thinking of using this TV
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=3757024  for a monitor.
I know this has been discussed before, but with the resolutions getting
better, what might the negatives be to using this monitor?
Question on native resolution29 Nov 2005 05:35 GMT3
I was checking out the VP231wb LCD. It says the native resolution is
1920x1200. That is as high as I could imagine wanting for quite a while.
Normally I would probably want to view it at a lower resolution. Is there
any problem with viewing at a lower resolution? An acquaintance ...
Call of duty 2 + 9800 pro29 Nov 2005 00:57 GMT3
Is this game a resource hog or is there something else at play here?
I have a 9800 pro + Athlon 64 3200, and have been running quake 4 just
fine, albeit @1024x768 and dropping to 20-30FPS in some places. CoD2
on the other hand, is totally unplayable, only getting a few FPS
