ATI TV instability12 Aug 2004 00:14 GMT1
Back in March, I upgraded from Cat4.1/MMC8.8 to Cat4.3/MMC8.9 (after using
the ATI uninstall utility). Thereafter, when I ran the TV (All-in-Wonder
9800Pro), my computer would crash every half hour or so (WinXP SP1, all
updates installed; p4 2.8GHz HT; 1GB DDR-SDRAM, Intel ...

Outpost.com & PC Connection = BS11 Aug 2004 18:40 GMT2
Well, over the past month I put in pre-orders for an X800 Pro and an
X800XT, both at pre-order sale prices. Gave up on Outpost after it
became clear they had NO intention of honoring their price, just said
it was on back-order with little chance of ever shipping.. PC
I think I killed my 9800 Pro11 Aug 2004 17:57 GMT22
I have a Sapphire 9800Pro which I got in Jan or Feb. Last night I decided to
take off the VGA Silencer and clean it out. Everything went smoothly. I put
some new AS5 on the gpu, put it together, popped it back into the
motherboard (Abit AI7) and it wouldn't post (stuck on error code ...
Doom 3 stress?11 Aug 2004 04:11 GMT12
Well, Carmack said it would stress things we didn't know we had. My
9600XT with Arctic Cooler was dead this morning after a 2 hour session
of Doom 3 last night. Coincidence, probably, huh?
Replaced it with a spare 9600SE, (gag, choke). At least I didn't have to

Real Doom 3 performance boost10 Aug 2004 06:10 GMT18
http://www.beyond3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=14874
Forget the meager tweaks posting everywhere. This is a simple working
Shader mod for ATI that addresses one of the real problems why ATI cards
are underperforming in Doom 3.

I installed the cat4.9 over my omega4.7 and I lost all ability to adjust my
