Up till now i've always done the following
1 drive - Primary is C -
then an Extended with maybe 1 or 2 logical for data
any comments on this as i think / thought extended is the way to go ?

We have just bought Dell MD1000, together with 15 SAS 15K hard disks.
This server will be connected to 6 web servers which provide a
centralized storage using NFS.
This server is important as if it down, other web servers didn't work

Drives are working and show in the Disk Manager and the desktop
but no longer showing in the Disk Management.
No hardware changed made,  it just happened,  backed out all the last  MS
updates and did scans for Viruses and Malware.

As far as I found out there two different tools for making an USB stick bootable:

and
"HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool"

Hi.  I have a file server with a raid array and I'm having some lousy
performance numbers.  This is what I'm working with:

Testing a FreeAgent drive  and the drive was playing up started to click,
Windows SeaTools Test shows that Drive as 100%  but not even showing on the
Desktop, and I tested the drive over and over again still 100%..
BUT after quitting SeaTools and running it again it, then could not ...

and when I do it repeats message. The first time I turned on comp it

I have a 500Gig WD h/d and a NextStar 3 usb enclosure and a problem
*I can only format when the drive is attached as an IDE device. I then
attach it to the usb and and works great...I copy files into it then after I
turn the computer off and hte usb drive off

If I take a backup image of a fragmented drive and restore it onto a new

hard disks write out-of-order relative to the order that the writes
were passed to them from the OS.  You find the program at
