Our software developers are starting to use VMware workstation as a matter of course to run various development environments at the same time. Our current standard of 32 bit Windows XP limits us to 3GB of memory so we're considering switching to 64 bit Vista with 6GB memory.

It seems that you just can't update a USB drive I have one that is only 7 days old, has clicking noises and disappears and is on the list of Bad drives but not the Serial number, that is a Con as they do not support USB drives.. ST31000340AS SD81 firmware..

I have a 2 gig non-Sony Memstick ProDuo which seems only to be able to hold 1 gig. After that it writes broken files. Full sized but broken. So it can write a 50 gig video file but as soon as it starts to read it, the read stops. No amount of self-formatting can help this

I have been looking at the Seagate 1.5 TB drives on Pricewatch. Some of the ads do not list the warranty period. Some list the warranty period as three years. Some list the warranty period as five years. I looked on the Seagate web site and all I found was this:

Does a defragger, such as PerfectDisk, perform the equivalent of a CHKDSK before defragging? If not, then should I be running CHKDSK before every defrag?

Well, I execute a series disk upgrades on my system yesterday and today. I copied the contents of two drives to two other new drives. Each new drive was obviously empty and freshly formatted beforehand. My assumption was that copying the entire contents of each older drive
