Hey guys. I've got a real problem on my hands. Basically all my work
for the last 4 years at University, along with countless amounts of
data I've accumulated over the years stored on my hard drive might be
lost. The drive suddenly stopped working properly 2 nights ago, and

I have an Adaptec 2410SA controller with four 160GB drives configured in a
RAID5 array for a total capacity 480GB.
The array contains a lot of very important data, which I can't bear to

I recently read about the heated contest between two Storage vendors
regarding some IOPS tests one did with the other's gear. The latter's claim
is that the IOPS benchmark is biased and irrelevant, and therefore they
don't run it with their own products. Not being neither a HPC ...

If a 7200RPM disk can write 20MB/s writes, why can't a stripe of 5
give 100MB/s?

I have a laptop with a 20GB disk.  I want to consolidate partitions
with PM8 but I get error 111 when I boot from the CD.  It asks if I
want to fix the problem and I pick "yes" it doesn't complain but
doesn't do anything, either.  When I reboot I ge the same error.

to send a REQUEST_SENSE SCSI command. I am able to send the CBW but I am not

I'm getting stuck trying to figure out how to recover from a
USB mass storage "error".  This is for "bulk only" protocol.

"Maxtor OneTouch 4" and "Maxtor OneTouch 4 Mini".
The mini drive type has no problem.  The standard size drive type logs about

The other day I bought a new Travelstar HD for a Thinkpad.
The drive is labeled as a HTS541616J9A, 160 GB, 5400 Rpm.
I partioned it, into two parts. And now Windows diskmanager reports it
