i've got an old storage server here, running W2k, with a promise pci-card
raid controller. The controller hosts a raid 5 array and it is 4 or 5 years old,
so i guess it isnt built any more.

I'm trying to detect data corruption on a usb hard drive.
My test program writes then reads the disk, but never finds
any corruption.  But if I unmount/unplug and replug the usb, the

I have been using Norton Ghost for sometime now to clone disks and are
really impressed with its ability to clone/image disks that have some
fairly serious errors (whereas the likes of Acronis always just seems
to crash!)
