Netvista 6643 hard disk removal31 Aug 2007 08:15 GMT9
We have a broken-down Netvista 6643-13D in our office. We could not find
anyone who could repair it. So we are thinking of throwing it away. But
before we do so we have to take out the hard disk because it contains
confidential data.
US DOI Hardware30 Aug 2007 19:38 GMT3

What Network Appliance products where available back in 1994?

model of "Network Appliance", by which I take it they mean the
The Windows 2000/XP USB 128 GB problem29 Aug 2007 18:31 GMT18
When the Windows 2000/XP USB 128 GB problem is present, sector
268435455 cannot be addressed.
It happens when an LBA 28-bit command is sent to the disk, and the
disk only supports LBA 48-bit commands for addressing that sector.
HDD use on both PC *AND* Mac26 Aug 2007 17:26 GMT3
Can an external drive be used to backup a PC first, then transfer that

be used from there on out)?
I'm wondering if it is configured for use on a PC, then it may in turn

I bought a Tivo with 40GB hard drive and want to use it in a PC.
It's a Western Digital WD400LB-55DNA0
I can fdisk/format it.  I can read/write it.  It just won't boot.
BIOS gets to the point "verifying DMI pool data" and hangs.

Silicon Image 0680 + 3114 on same system ?25 Aug 2007 07:38 GMT6
I've bought a Connectland "carte PCI RAID ATA 133 0703014" dual
IDE controller (Silicon Image 0680, PCI 1095:0680 rev 02).
Unfortunately it conflicts with the Silicon Image 3114 on the
motherboard (PCI 1095:3114 rev 02).

I tried to connect a Maxtor Ultra EIDE ATA/133 120GB hard drive to my
old Asus P2B mobo. During boot, bios message says "Detecting HDD" but
it never goes beyond the screen. I tried as Master and Slave, but same
message (different line).
