iSCSI to SATA30 Sep 2006 17:24 GMT1
Can I access SATA disks via iSCSI? The intutive answer seems no, since
iSCSI is using scsi pdus.
But then again I see vendors selling enclosures full with SATA drives
but accessible via iscsi. So is there a conversion of scsi to sata in
Maxtor Chirping? What is This30 Sep 2006 16:26 GMT11
I had used a Maxtor Onetouch II to back up files. To use it I just
pluged it in. The system recognized it and all was well.
I reinstalled the system - pluged it in. The system sees the drive but
it is not in the files list .

Backup devices28 Sep 2006 16:05 GMT2
I have recently been hired by my employer and  have been tasked with
creating a backup strategy. We have a server that currently has less
than 80 Gigs of drive space on it, and less than half of that is
"used." To that end, I've been reviewing possible backup devices and
Which are the fastest USB pen drives? What type are they?28 Sep 2006 09:30 GMT3

writing.
Which are the faster ones available today?
Are they special in some way?
Extremely Fast Imaging of NTFS Volumes?27 Sep 2006 12:09 GMT6
I have an older Windows NT box that for several reasons needs to remain at
Windows NT for a while.   I need to find a way to image the boot device on
this machine quickly, probably from a DOS or Linux preboot environment, but
I would prefer to find a Windows based utility.
LDAP replacing NIS27 Sep 2006 03:06 GMT4
I was wondering if anyone out there has experience with using LDAP in
a large environment, particularly it's impact on NAS storage such as
NetApp.
I'm concerned that since LDAP responses are not cached by the NAS
Software to backup 2 networked PCs to each other?27 Sep 2006 00:03 GMT2
Any suggestions for software that'll backup designated folders on two PCs to
the other PC. Ideally with no user intervention ever.(perhaps a constant
trickle feed each way?). Both machines running XP Pro.

Is the Maxtor MaxLine Pro 500 a SATA2 only?26 Sep 2006 17:23 GMT1
can you confirm if the SATA version of the MaxLine Pro 500 is actually
a SATA2 only?
Cause it behaves erratically in a SATA1 external enclosure.
Thank you,
Advice please: SATA or no, Terastation Maybe?26 Sep 2006 05:25 GMT15
The first of my two Maxtor One-Touch external USB drives is failing.
I'm sure the second will go sooner or later, too.
I often would rather not power off at night, but would like to run 24/7
for days at a time so backups, scans, etc. can take place while I sleep.
Ghost 2003 - USB boot floppy - cannot find COMMAND.COM25 Sep 2006 20:46 GMT1
I have used this setup many times with no problem. Ghost 2003 Boot disc
is placed in an external floppy A: drive on a USB port.  A 250GB drive
is connected to another USB port. The hard drive is imaged to the USB
250GB hard drive. Fine - no problem.
