Does anyone have an opinion on the Maxtor F01H500 OneTouch III 500 GB USB external drive. It will be used with 4 WD 400 GB external drives that I already have. Thanks for any help you may be able to offer.

Anyone have any experiences of the Storewiz STN-5000? It's supposed to be some sort of on the fly compressor that sits in front of a NAS filer. http://www.storewiz.com/ I've looked in the archives but couldn't find much!

I've been looking for a while on the net for some numbers on NetBench for a NetApp filer... my question is basically, for a NetApp filer like the FAS960, how many client CIFS connections/sessions can it handle, what is the maximum throughput and average latency?

As I understand,SAN most popular protocol today is Fibre Channel. Less popular are iSCSI Infiniband. Are there any other protocols apart from these for SAN ? Is this the situation currently?
