Can SATA controller cards work with SATA-II?30 Mar 2006 22:19 GMT3
I'm planning on buying a SATA-II hard drive but I need to buy a
controller card for it. I see a lot of SATA controller cards that
don't say anything about supporting SATA-II equipment, do they work
with SATA-II drives or do I need to look specifically for a SATA-II
Recovering data from a corrupted .pst file (OS reports 0 Bytes size)30 Mar 2006 13:19 GMT14
My computer has apparently decided to become instable the big way (I
am suspecting faulty DRAM) - and saturday evening it crashed,
subsequently corrupting my .pst file. I cannot recall how big it had
become - probably some 400-500 MB in size - but when I rebooted outlook
Good Utilities for Testing Hard Drives for Errors?30 Mar 2006 01:56 GMT4
What are some good software utilities for surface testing hard drives for
errors under Windows 2000 / 2003?    We were using IOMETER for a while, but

NTBackup BKS file compressibility30 Mar 2006 01:54 GMT2
The BKS files don't seem to be compressed, since they are the same size as
the store that was backed up.  They aren't compressible either, judging by
my experiment setting the compress attribute of some of them.  Do they use
non-compressible encryption?

Only one drive can exist on cable29 Mar 2006 22:12 GMT3
Due to a drive failure I added a old Quantum Fireball as a primary
drive and set up the Maxtor as a secondary drive to retreive the data.
Initially this seemed to work, but then I got an error that the Maxtor
had been removed from the system.  Now I can only put one drive on the
SATA-II hard drive or IDE?28 Mar 2006 19:00 GMT41
My motherboard doesn't have SATA support so I would have to get a
controller for it (I think they're like $50). Would doing this be
worth it for the increase in speed of SATA-II drives or should I just
get an IDE drive? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Temparary CD? What are they?27 Mar 2006 22:10 GMT4
What are temporary CDs? AFAIK, they seem to be CDs that work for
a limited amount of time after which they destroy themselves. Is
