Hello, All!
I checked the health of my drives, 2 SATA (Raid0), and 2 IDE drives. All of
them are showing ID5 reallocated sector count failures. I can understand one
showing this but all of them?? Any ideas what could cause this?

this is driving me crazy:
I have SiI 06 80 RAID controller and two HDDs hooked up, one maxtor and
the other wd, both 80GB, dynamic setting.
I am getting CRC errors most of the time. Disks are both healthy,

Is there a gigabit NAS that can function as a JBOD? I don't need RAID and I
want the disk to be standard NTFS - swapable into any win XP system?

Inherited a barebones box, so I put in 1 GB RAM, new video card, a
300gb hard drive and installed Windows XP. About every other day the
machine crashes and reboots, but fails to detect the hard drive. When i
turn on the monitor, it has the "primary drive not recognized..." error

Okay, I'm running some gateway comp with windows xp pro. I convert my
80gig partioned HD to a dynamic disk. I wanted to undo that without
having to reinstall xp, so I tried a system restore (I know, I

on the warranty. I've never lost a HD before, although I RMA'd one that

I recently purchased a second hard drive (ntfs) for my laptop. I ran
some tests using HD Tach and was surprised by the results:

strangest thing happened.
While coping a *.mpeg movie to backup, disk system suddenly hanged and
I needed to force restart it.
Win xp then reported some errors on d: disk and recommended repair.
