Hi, I have a problem with my HDD (Western Digital 80 GB PATA), I had a blue screen, and when I rebooted the disk was recognized with random characters instead of the disk model (for example "Primary master: SBCY%JU$IKDM987KDHJMRF" instead of WD800...) and of course it didn't

I want to warn you about some behaviour of Norton Ghost and XP: I have got several harddisks for backups that I insert into my computer using a IDE rack whenever I need them. When I look into Disk Management the absent backup harddisks are shown

My CD-ROM drive bay is on top of the HD one. I thought the connection at the end has to be the master and other one in the middle being the slave. So I set it up as CD being the master, and HD as the slave. My PC does not recognize any dirve???

We have two identical laptops with 60GB hard drives. We need to have an efficient way of having them 'synched' upon demand. I have used Ranish partition manager to copy a hard drive to an identical one. Does anyone know offhand how long it might take to do a hard drive copy

I am using a True Image rescue disk to restore an image from a USB external drive. However, the USB drive is not recognized when I boot to the rescue disk instead of to Win XP. How can I restore from the USB drive?

I've been looking for information about USB 2.0 performance using external 5400 rpm 2-1/2" drives versus 4200. I'm inclinded to believe that there would be little difference in performance for backing up large images. Has anyone seen any info or had experience with this?
