I'm a music lover for many years, and have done some simple recording
from time to time, from the 78 rpm acetate disc era to my new all

New DVD burner recommendation, please23 Feb 2008 20:43 GMT8
I'm about to purchase a new DVD burner for my computer.  Most of the ones
I've seen lately have an SATA connection.  Do all burners with SATA also
accept a PATA ribbon connector, or is SATA essential?
If my computer has no SATA connection, how do I convert PATA to SATA?
Cannot save  WAV files under original file name w/ Nero21 Feb 2008 00:05 GMT5
I've got Nero Wave Editor 2.0.0.37 as part of Nero 6 Ultra on my
laptop (Dell XP). After editing a WAV file recorded from my cassettes
with Soundtrax, I am not able to save it under the same file name.
It complains about a temporary file not being able to be produced,

for so i gave it a cdr. Burned.
Sony DRU500A05 Feb 2008 05:07 GMT1
When I use this with a CD or DVD, it works fine except for a noisy background
coming from the hardware.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance for any help.
size of a piece of directory record05 Feb 2008 04:53 GMT1
In ISO9660, is the size of a piece of directory record a sector? If
its size is less than one sector, will it be filled with zero till the
end of the sector or the other record can be recorded right after it?
Thanks.
memorex cool colors03 Feb 2008 01:24 GMT2
I can't seem to find the cdr's that are colored something other than
silver on the underside.  I think that even the memorex ones are
silver on the underside... not cool.  Do they still make them?
