How do you set the DMA settings manually?
I've just set-up a new Athlon64 computer and the two drives DVDROM and
DVDwriter are recognised with Nero6 in place and seem to work OK. But
certain programs don't detect the drives as being there.

    Is there any difference in the size of the pit area for a CD burned
with a DVD burner vs a CD burner?  In other words, is there any
advantage to burning the same CD on a CD burner because the burned area
is easier to read than a disk burned on a DVD burner?

1: Can an OS (like Windows 2000) effect the BIOS ability to detect if a CD
drive is installed or not?
2: If a BIOS can't detect a CD drive, does that effect the ability of said

It can read commercial title CD and DVD disc with no problem
It can read burn CD-R, CD-RW and DVD+RW disc with problem

HP DVD 300i, Burned great for awhile, now making coasters. Thought the drive
was bad, replaced with a Samsung. Same result. I uninstalled Roxio, and
installed Nero, same thing. Now I've clean installed XP and Nero, same
thing. What next??

Someone is going to give me a CD image file with an extension of .uif
which is a Magic ISO image file.  Can Nero create a CD from a .uif
image?  Is there any other program besides Magic ISO that can read that

I run NERO for my CD jobs, but happened to install the ROXIO UDF Reader
which did a number on one Nero application.
How do I eliminate this Reader?  It is not listed in my control panel.  I

I've got a wavefile which I'd actually like to add some pops and clicks to
simulate an old LP.  I know of many programs that can "clean" recordings of
such noise, but is there a way to add it throughout the file to make it
sound like an old recording.
