Mount Rainier and EasyWrite31 Jan 2006 23:33 GMT2
I'm looking to buy my first dvd writer drive and have just found out
about Mount Rainier & EasyWrite, which sounds great - being able
to use a blank dvd as easily as a floppy disc without all the faffy
ripping software.
Nero truncating filenames to eight characters31 Jan 2006 04:11 GMT4
Hi... I'm using Nero Burning Rom 6.3.1.6 with WinXP Pro. It has suddenly
begun truncating filenames to only 8 characters. The filenames show normal
in the browse window, but are cut off at 8 characters when copied to the
compilation, and when burned. Can someone explain what ...
Cars and CDRs30 Jan 2006 15:52 GMT7
I burn CDs at 4X but guilty of leaving burned CDs in my car.  During
playback, the car CD player produces ticking, hissing, then finally
play-stoppage. It appears using cheap blank CDRs and cars is a no-no.  I do
not however, want to cart burnt CDRs from my car. Ok - YES, shame ...
CD-ROM vs CR-R30 Jan 2006 09:03 GMT9
I have an ancient 100Mhz system cira 1996 with a Creative 'Hex Speed' CD-ROM
drive. I was hoping to turn this into a light-weight Linux user but can't
get it to read a CR-R disk I made of Knoppix.
When I compare the CR-R CD with the Windows 95 Distribution here is what I
Printing problems - WP1030 Jan 2006 08:56 GMT2
I have WP10, SP4 installed and an HP Deskjet 5650 printer.
In WP, I can only print one copy of a document. In addition, the last
page (first if only one) does not eject. It has printed the last line
and any footers.

Any DVD drives with faster response to inserted disc?29 Jan 2006 14:42 GMT15
I am using a Lite-On LDW-811S DVD writer. It works fine but has an
annoying quality. It is slow responding when media is inserted. After
the drawer closes, it goes through a blinking phase, followed by a
seeking phase, followed by a spin-up, spin-down phase. Each phase can

Tagging .cda's28 Jan 2006 07:57 GMT4
If there's a better place to ask this, let me know.
In summary, my question is when using Nero, and .wav files as the source,
how can I get the Title and Track information to appear when burning to
.cda's?  Or is it possible?
nero 6.6 CRC fails in different files each time27 Jan 2006 22:30 GMT1
I just downloaded nero 6.6.0.18.  I double clicked to open it, and it
started extracting files.  A few were red with the CRC error warning.  I
can't go past that point until I get no errors.
I ran the nero installer once again, but this time, files that had a crc
How to - burn video files with DVD Decrypter27 Jan 2006 19:38 GMT8
I realise DVD-D is no longer supported, but it still works for me when
cracking my DVD's.
I was told that I can burn individual DVD files to disc with DVD-D but I
only seem to be able to burn a disc image .ISO etc.

How many books can fit on a CD rom?26 Jan 2006 17:01 GMT1
I'd like to ask a question. Does anyone know how many books can fit on
a CD ROM
of 600, 650, 750 and 800MB?
EAC rips too fast25 Jan 2006 18:44 GMT4
EAC ripped at about 10x on my old Lite-On burner.  This is using the secure
mode.  I have a new LG burner, and the speed starts right out at about 18x
and works up to the high 30's by the end of the rip.  That's pretty fast.
Does it sound right to you?
