FarStone Virtual Drive 901 Oct 2005 00:30 GMT3
I'm not (but maybe I am) completely stupid but I can't fully understand the
"virtual drive" concept.
But this program seems that it will bypass my idiocy and take care of
everything.
Making CD-R compatible30 Sep 2005 17:00 GMT11
How do I get these confusing programs to make a multisession cd that can
be written to on various computers until it is FULL?? I tried iso9660

File Sizes on DVD30 Sep 2005 04:24 GMT2
Greetings all, newbie here.  I have a NEC 2500 DVD burner.  I'm using
Sony DVD software to burn.  The burner and software are quite adequate
for my needs.  What I'm running into is file size.  It appears to me
that the DVD burner is being treated like a CD burner by my PC.  As an
Can't erase CDRW30 Sep 2005 04:01 GMT3
I burned a CDRW as a audio disk in Nero some time back, and now I cannot
erase it. Can someone explain this for me? Thanks.
Copying a damaged (but playable) CD - HELP!!!29 Sep 2005 01:37 GMT11
To sum it up quickly, I've done something stupid and need some help.
I've got a very rare audio CD ca. 1986 that I keep in storage for safe
keeping and play a CDR copy that I made.  Well, the CDR that I made has
been damaged - the outter edge of the disc is missing a "chunk."
Thumbs.db files on CDR - pointless?28 Sep 2005 07:46 GMT2
I'm not too sure how Thumbs.db files really work, but I guess they are
pointless being put on multisession CDRs when you are adding files to a
folder.  Is there any way you can tell Nero to ignore these files when
dragging over folders to the compilation?
how to copy selected music tracks from "Enhanced CD"28 Sep 2005 04:42 GMT5
Bear with me, I've just joined the group, and this might have come up
already. A search for my question did turn up many hits, but none
(until I gave up) on copying only selected tracks.
The many hits were on how to copy ALL the music from a CD that had both
What's so special about the IDE cable that ships with a Sony DRU-530a?27 Sep 2005 18:32 GMT7
What's so special about the IDE cable that ships with a Sony DRU-530a DVD
Burner?  I recently added another CD-RW drive to my system and may have
mistakenly taken out the cable that shipped with my Sony burner and I've no
idea where I might have placed it.  I've noticed that my ...

Can someone please point me in the right direction to some freeware
that can create ISO files from a directory of files stored on my local
hard drive?

Duplicating files on another hard drive27 Sep 2005 09:41 GMT13
I have 2 hard drives--the main one and the backup.  My music is stored on a
large file on my main HD (about 50GB).  This file changes frequently as I
add and subtract music.  What I would like to do is arrange so that the file
on the back up HD tracks the main one; every time I ...
Will a player switch between different compression types?  27 Sep 2005 01:03 GMT1
Let's say you have a CD player that will play mp3 files; it will also play
wma files.  Now let's imagine a CD-R with 3 hours of mp3 music, followed by
3 hours of wma music.  Will the player seamlessly switch from mp3 to wma in
the middle of the disc?
incd odd behaviour26 Sep 2005 16:11 GMT7
My wife and I both have PCs with XP Home, and both of us use ahead's
inCD. She copied some photos onto her inCD CD-RW for me to edit. But
when I inserted it in my drive, it opened with just one entry
'Non-allocatable space'. Back in her PC, it opened fine. And my inCD
