I've got some old embedded systems running NT4 that can't be changed
to anything newer, and I'd like to hand CD burners on them to help
pull data.  I assume I can't use an external burner due to lack of USB
support.

I've been noticing that my Plextor PX-708U connected to my
Windows 2000 system via firewire has been burning slow.
Though rated to burn DVD+R at 8x, it's been burning at 2x
CD-RW rated at 24x is burning at 4x

Hi does anyone know if ther is a firmeware update for this drive,looked on
nec's web site could not see it. I have read that there is an update ,but
where I don't know.
