Is it possible to burn a bunch of tracks (mp3 or whatever) and eliminate the spaces between the tracks that you get with Windows Media Player?

I heard that once you burn a CD, it will have a limited lifetime, like 5years for example. After that whay happens? How can I backup data and preserve for a lifetime?

I found a deal at Sam's club for $18 for 50 Verbatim music cdr's with cases but I was not sure they're good for data too. Are music cdr's good for data too or just good for makin' music? Thanks

I've been using Verbatim CD-Rs for some time, and writing titles etc on the top side with a CD-R marker pen (also made by Verbatim). Question: I now have DVD-Rs, also Verbatim, and their top-side is an opaque creamy colur; and is slightly mottled, not smooth as with CD-Rs.

Assuming decent quality media,how long a shelf life can one expect from music or data CD-Rs that have been treated properly...that is,no extreme temps,scratches,chemical exposure,sunlight exposure,etc?

trying to install windows ME onto a empty drive I ran into a small problem,the internal floppy controller no longer works. where can I find files to make a bootable cdrom with ezcd 5 without using a floppy at all. all I would need is a dos prompt and cdrom driver

I copied a music CD using Office Depot CD-R. Did it at 4X to insure a good copy. Played it on the computer. Seems OK. On second play and afterwards, errors developed on the second half of the CD, then errors developed from first track on. Now about 12 hours later, Computer

have NEC DVD burner which is capable of burning at 8x. However my media is only 4x. Is there a way of forcing Nero to display all the speeds and not just those that the media is rated at? If i destroy the dvd that's ok i just want to give it a shot if possible at all.

I've been trying to reinstall my os on a new hd. Its been partitioned and formatted. Now I need to reinstall os with the internal cd rom, but when i use the startup disk and choose no. 1 with cd rom support, it says driver not found. I even went into bios to alter the configuration ...

What happens if you turn off audio sync is Easy Cd 5.3... When I'm extracting with it on I get 5x on the test. When I uncheck it I got 13x. I've burnt hundreds of cd's with these drives and software setup. Just recently the Acer 56 max seems to extract to slow for burning on the fly ...
