| advice: hp 5610 | 31 Jan 2008 18:05 GMT | 4 |
A friend of mine wants to buy a printer. She saw an offer for an HP (Office Jet?) 5610 - all in one printer/copier/fax/scanner. It works out just a little more expensive than a printer. However other points may make a standard printer more worth buying:

| canon automatic nozzle cleaning | 30 Jan 2008 22:28 GMT | 16 |
I have a MP 180 which seems to run a cleaning cycle every time I turn it on. I do not think this is necessary. I read somewhere to not disconnect it from the power but this does not stop it. Any way to have it clean only when I want it to?

| Re-thinking Inkjets | 30 Jan 2008 22:26 GMT | 23 |
Inkjet design took a wrong turn, actually several of them. My 20-year- old HP Deskjet runs fine (with several roller cleanings); my 2-year- old Canon self destructed with light to normal use. Increasing complexity, increasing cost per page, declining mechanical reliability

| Kyson Continuous Ink System for Canon Ip4500 | 30 Jan 2008 22:18 GMT | 4 |
I am considering ordering a CIS system (continuous ink system) from the Kyson company (http://www.kysonusa.eznet.biz/) for my Canon Ip4500. I'm getting mighty tired of paying $15-$17 per tiny cartridge for this otherwise

| WIndows XP driver for Panasonic KX-P3124 dot matrix printer available? | 30 Jan 2008 16:10 GMT | 1 |
I need a driver for Windows XP for the Panasonic KX-P3124 dot matrix printer that can access the internal fonts. The stock driver in Windows XP works but prints very S-L-O-W-L-Y as it does not access internal fonts (to my knowledge) and prints text as graphics.

I am running my Toshiba laptop on a wireless hook-up using a linksys router but have been printing to my HP C4180 printer using a hard cable. I'm sure there is a way to print wirelessly, but can't seem to find the instructions for setting it up.

| i've got a weird one here, oki printer prints O instead of Q :-S | 29 Jan 2008 09:50 GMT | 4 |
This probably won't be an easy one so i'll accept all suggestions. I've got an old school dot matrix printer, (oki microline 393) it works great with the exception of when it prints the letter q, or more appropraitely doesn't print it.

| 'Empty' Epson carts still contain ink!! | 29 Jan 2008 05:22 GMT | 23 |
I was disturbed to find that the carts which my Epson R300 claimed were empty (it wouldn't do anything until I swapped) still seemed to have substantial ink left in them (I shook them and heard liquid slopping around).

| Photo Ink vs Regular Ink | 28 Jan 2008 02:52 GMT | 3 |
I'm running an HP C4180 which will take either a standard color ink cartridge (HP95) or a special Photo cartridge (HP99), "for brighter more vivid photos". I just noticed that the HP99 contains almost twice as much ink(13ml) as the HP 95 (7ml), and there is only about $1.00
