I am looking at buying an HP 9800 off ebay. The lady selling it
doesn't know how to check how pages it's printed and neither do I.
Can someone please explain this to me so I can then tell her?

DOSPrint and tray behavior31 Oct 2007 19:42 GMT1
Is there a way to force DOSPrint to only use one printer tray;
moreover, I wish to set the printer so that printing stops if paper in
the one tray I wish to use is empty.  For example, if I only wish to
use Tray 3 in the printer and the paper runs out, the printer does not

Hope the following will help everyone fixing their HP Photosmart and
'Out of Paper' error message.
I got all of this information from the web and must credit the

Fading30 Oct 2007 05:37 GMT1
I printed a sign for my farm market about six weeks ago, an outdoor sign
printed on light blue cardstock with aftermarket pigmented black ink.
That sign has been exposed to the elements during those six weeks,
through bright sunshine and heavy rain, and the sign has faded ...
Russian website which had a service manual for the Canon Pixma IP3000 bubblejet printer.29 Oct 2007 22:18 GMT3
Some of the long standing subscribers to this news group will probably
remember details of this Russian website.
I'm probably going back more than one year.
Thanks in advance for that info.
HP OfficeJet 7x00 Vista drivers are crap29 Oct 2007 19:37 GMT8
What a load of crap drivers HP made available for the OfficeJet 7x00
series (I have an OfficeJet 7310). There is an 'official' Vista driver
on the website, but it has several MAJOR bugs.
My new home computer is Vista, but the printer is also used with a
Epson stylus Pro 4000 print head banding27 Oct 2007 07:21 GMT9
We have had the 4000 pro for almost 4 years and it printed fine for
the first 10 months.  We have sent a fortune in ink puting it though
its head cleaning.  We can not leave if for more than 2 to 3 week and
its clogs any time of the year. Just today it required 3 cleans and
Calling tech support for help with stolen printer27 Oct 2007 05:32 GMT3
Calling tech support for help with stolen printer
Sometimes calling tech support can be a real pain--like when you can't
get a hard-to-obtain printer that was just reported stolen to work for you.
That's apparently the experience of Timothy Scott Short, who was
Recommendations - low-end networkable mono laser26 Oct 2007 23:44 GMT5
Having been recently treated rather poorly by HP I am looking around
for a range of mono lasers to purchase for the school I work at.
Generally I have been purchasing smaller networkable mono printers
around the 20 ppm mark up to 1200 DPI, such as the HP1320N. For

laser printer for small office with networking (brother 2070N and 5250DN)26 Oct 2007 10:19 GMT1
I have been asked to select a B/W laser printer for a very small office.
On an average, I am not expecting more than around 10~20 prints a day.
So far, I have come down to two choices:

inkjet refills23 Oct 2007 03:16 GMT9
I have refilled various inkjet cartridges(HP, Lexmark) to varying
degrees of success.  After I reinsert the cartridge, I always get the
low ink message when I try to print.  Has anyone figured out how to
reset the printer so it reads the new ink levels?
