Clanking noises from HP394030 Nov 2005 20:23 GMT1
I bought the HP3940 for temporary use while deciding on a
multifunction model, HP or otherwise. It prints well enough for
everyday use but makes clanking noises before and after the actual
printing during which it is smooth and quiet.  Anyone else
retail store cartridge refillers30 Nov 2005 19:43 GMT9
Business Week magazine had an article, this week about Cartridge World, a
company that was started in Australia and is now franchising stores in the
US.  One item of interest is that HP makes 80% of its profits on the sale of
inkjet ink cartridges and toner supplies although they ...
Ancient HP IIIP30 Nov 2005 18:46 GMT12
Now, I've dug out my old HP IIIP as the main printer is playing up.  I
should have the users manual out of a storage box tomorrow, which might
help, but it is covering almost half the page with grey, I took the
toner cartridge out and there was toner left on the photosensitve ...

Getting Near30 Nov 2005 17:50 GMT9
It is getting near the holidays.  Make sure you put OEM ink in your
loved ones stocking so he/she can enjoy printing photos instead of
unclogging their printers if they can do that at all. :-)
Replacement Printer Cartridges30 Nov 2005 17:18 GMT28
It was nice to get a free printer when I bought my
recent new Dell Dimension 3000 computer. I should
have been suspicious of the gift, though. Now that the
Trial cartridges are about shot, I see they want
HP LaserJet4ML software for Mac30 Nov 2005 14:41 GMT2
I acquired a HP LaserJet 4ML printer with no operation manual or software.
Does anyone have these items and if so, could I get a copy of them? I am
operating my printer with Gimp-Print and it is printing direct copy but I
am sure that there is more capability to the printer.

Lanscape paper orientation for Canon i990030 Nov 2005 10:00 GMT1
Sorry if this ends up being a duplicate posting - I thought I had
posted it a day or two ago but it has never shown up.
This is a question for someone who has used the Canon i9900 although I
am also curious about other similar larger format printers.  I have
Printer switching trays30 Nov 2005 09:18 GMT2
all common laser printers I know have a typical behaviour: If the
selected tray is out of paper, an other tray is used. In some
enviroments, this is disturbing, for example in an office with
different formulas in different trays. Is there a way to prevent this?
Problem with HP5P30 Nov 2005 08:31 GMT10
Can anyone help me with this problem. I'm pretty good mechanically, so
could do a repair if I knew what to diagnose.
My 7-year-old HP5P laser has suddenly packed up. Its throughput is never
more than about 200pages per month.

I discussed wife's problem with a clogging inkjet over
in message NON-Clogging Inkjet of any brand?
Since my general experience (home and office) is that a
laser may be left idle for days/weeks and works without
Compact photo printer recommendations30 Nov 2005 02:45 GMT1
We are going to buy my mother-in-law a compact photo printer.  Yes, I
know all the arguments about cost, quality, etc. but she's seen one my
sister-in-law has and wants one.
So, I think I've narrowed it down to either the Canon Selphy CP710 or

Need printer29 Nov 2005 18:45 GMT19
I am asked to purchase a printer for a business. We need to print about
6000 4" x 6" prints per month.
Because of the volume the cost per print must be low. I am not too
concerned with printer cost though (if consumables were cheaper).
