Spare parts and negative overclocking! ;-)01 Jun 2008 00:29 GMT5
OK...negative overclocking potentially, just to keep this on topic!
If you've read some of my other posts, you'll know that during the course of
this year, I've replaced just about every part of my PC.
I had a few spares as a result, so I've decided to put them to use as a home

My question is that I would like to know if it would be worth upgrading to
the phenom 9850 CPU from my AMD 6400 Black Edition CPU, If so would I notice
much change in my games or benchmarks.

How to overclock an Intel E8400 on an ABIT IP35Pro ?19 May 2008 20:57 GMT10
hello NG, I'm having a system with MoBo ABIT IP35Pro, running with the new
Intel Processor E8400 (3.00 GHz).  So far, I did slight overclocking
according to the various settings suggested by the Abit uGuru, the CPU is
now running on 3116 MHz, with BusSpeed raised to 348 MHz.  As ...

My temp for CPU is 44 for the northbridge - is this normal?
I have just recently upgraded my motherboard and I noticed my CPU
northbridge temp is at 44 degrees - is this ok?  The CPU temp is at a
steady 25, but the northbridge is the one that is high.  Should I

Q9450 delays13 May 2008 15:44 GMT1
Does anyone have any idea when the Q9450s are likely to hit the UK in
anything like decent quantities, so that end consumers can get them?
I've trawled the web so many times, but never really find anything
conclusive. It's interesting to note that the Extreme version of this chip
BFG video cards and overclocking12 May 2008 07:35 GMT12
Hey all,
Any BFG video card owners here doing their own overclocking?
I'm trying to get an idea of how strict they are with the enforcement
of their warranty.
9850 and M3N-HT Deluxe10 May 2008 16:18 GMT1
So far this combo seems to work good with the shipped BIOS. Been a
few days since I bought them and haven't had any problems. I'm using 2-way
SLI and playing Crysis and LOTRO at 1680x1050. Haven't overclocked the CPU
yet. Do have the GPU's OC'd a wee bit. Want to wait a week or ...
Gigabyte EP35-DSR3 issues solved08 May 2008 03:35 GMT7
After much hair tairing and BIOS flashing, RAM switching and swapping, hours
of BIOS settings playing, I noticed that whenever the system booted with the
BIOS changed for Auto on any fsb or memory settings whatsover, before the
system hung the USB external Vantec enclosure ...
PC won't boot. PSU suspected07 May 2008 03:59 GMT3
I put a rebuilt PC back in service before I went on vacation, but came back
to a non booting PC. It makes a thunking/clicking  noise when first turned
on and freezes about half way through the boot screen. It makes the normal
single beep when booting. I was considering buying one ...
Accurate CPU temp monitor?07 May 2008 01:37 GMT7
Up until today I've always considered CoreTemp to be the most accurate for
reading my E4500's (@3.2GHz currently) temperature. It agrees with Intel's
TAT on temps across the range from idle to 100% load, give or take a degree.
However, while working on a mate's Phenom I downloaded ...
Issues with new build05 May 2008 18:09 GMT4
I just upgraded my system to an E8400 running on a Gigabyte EP35-DSR3 board
with 2 x 2Gig sticks of OCZ Platinum PC6400 RAM running in slot 1 and 3 in
dual channel mode and a good CoolerMaster hs/f. It booted up, installed XP
SP3 and all the drivers without issue. 100% stable at ...
RMA-ing Gigabyte GA-X48-DQ604 May 2008 19:30 GMT7
Had enough...this board is going back. After lots of grief, I've determined
that it's suffering from the 4 sticks of RAM issue. It was an expensive
board, so I expect much better. I don't want to have to do loads of tweaking
just to get it to work on spec!
