Any one have opinions on which works better as a overclocking operating
system.  And does it make a difference if you have AMD or Intel?

This is a bit different.  I upgraded my ram from two sticks of Hynix
DDR400 (2x512MB) to two sticks Hynix DDR400 (2x1024MB).  Now my Opteron
144 (Venus) will only run at 2.5GHz max. Previously it would do 2.7GHz.
The new ram is as quick as the old stuff so thats not the issue.  I

Installed a new SATA II drive, from that point it wouldn't allow a
BOOT without me taking ALL OC off. Tried just very minor OC and it
refused to Boot.
That makes no sense.

I replaced the Gigabyte I bought last month used with a new P6N from MSI

I just bought an AM2 X2 3600 (65w version @ 1.9ghz) and a Gigabyte M55SLI-S4
rev.2 motherboard and 2 x 1Gb sticks of 667 DDR2.
I'm looking at overclocking it to get that little bit extra out of it, as I

2x 1Gb Patriot 6300 667 Low latency DDR2 memory (in dual channel config)

My daughter's computer uses an ASUS A8V motherboard and W2K SP4.  It was
using a Venice 3000, but this morhing I finally got around to installing
the 3800X2.  The motherboard detected the new CPU OK.  The O/S didn't
seem to notice any difference.  Everything is working.  System

I was wondering if anyone can give me some advice on the maximum in
overclocking a P4 at 1700 mhz? I run it at over 1800 mhz now but I
wonder if there is some generally recognised limit before you damage
the thing?

I have a little problem with my motheboard. My mobo is Gigabyte 945p-s3
and the latest bios, when I go into the bios settings after CTRL+F1 I
still cant find Cpu Ration settins or samething similar...I try modify
other settings lika a CPU host frequency, Multipier, etc...and my ...

A cpu to ram ratio of 1:1 or not?
My M/B (Abit AB9 Pro Wifi) allows various settings for the cpu to ram
ratio, from 1:1 to 2:3 to 1:2 to 1:3 to 3:4 to 4:5 and I have no idea

Has anyone here tried ocing a 6320?  I was going to get a 4300 or 4400 but
it looks like only the early runs were good overclockers?  The 6320 is only
like $30 more than the 4400.
