Confused about RAM30 Oct 2005 14:23 GMT3
Hi; not really an overclocking question but I thought you gut=ys might
be able to help with some insight. I posted overe at alt/hardware also:
Here is what I'm putting together;
Intel D945G MB (dual core, DDR2 dual channel capable)

It's driving me nuts.
M-ATX motherboard, dual-lan?29 Oct 2005 17:41 GMT5
i'm looking for a micro-ATX motherboard for a 3D render farm (must be
socket 939, X2 compatible).
The main requirement is that it has to be a good overclocker (i would be
running X2 3800+ chips OC'd to 2.4GHz), and dual-lan (GbE) would be a
DFI for watercooling27 Oct 2005 21:57 GMT1
I've got a watercooling setup and my A8N-SLI Premium just went pop.
I'm thinking of ditching it for a DFI board, but from what I've seen the
chipset is underneath the 1st PCI-E slot, and so could be a problem for
a water block (using Asetek).
19' TFTRecommendations27 Oct 2005 14:00 GMT9
After some consideration, I am now very interested in the Samsung 940b
model flat-panel display. It's simplistic, and has good 8ns rate. I was
first very interested at the Dell Ultrasharp 1905FP, however, the 20ns
rate put me off because I extensively play Flight Simulator 2004.
Crucial Ballistix PC4000 1GB DRAM does _not_ work on AMD6427 Oct 2005 06:10 GMT8
I just survived two weeks of AMD64 system-building hell.  I want to report
to you the results in hope of saving some of you other modders from lots of
frustration.
Summary: The Crucial Ballstix 1GB DRAMs do not work as advertised on AMD64
AMD Mobile Athlon XP-M 2600+27 Oct 2005 02:28 GMT17

Well my problem is... i built my own pc, specs are as follows
AMD 3000+ Barton
How far will AMD go with the A64 in socket 939?24 Oct 2005 13:09 GMT9
I checked the AMD roadmap, but I did not see any indication when the
processors will change to Socket M. So how much more can we expect to get
out of Socket 939, what do your Crystal Balls tell you? :)
I'm asking because I'd like to do a "cheap" upgrade now and put a better CPU

Please help with A64 / video card problem23 Oct 2005 02:16 GMT5
I know this is OT to some degree, but people here have so much experience
with AMD cpu's that I thought someone might help with this issue.
A client bought an HP/Compaq computer, and I cannot make an eVga/Nvidia 6800
work correctly in it.  The setup:
ASROCK and AMD 3500+22 Oct 2005 21:40 GMT3
Well I have built this unit, so far so good. I noticed there is an AUTO
overclock and it mentions using PCI-E also in the bios. Is this OK to use
with AGP card?
P-M Dothan undeclocking and undervolting22 Oct 2005 01:34 GMT4
Hi, I'm running since some weeks my Centrino notebook (the CPU is a
1,7GHz P-M Dothan) at 1GHz with the voltage of 0,988 hinted for the
600MHz clock for this CPU.
I've simply undeclocked and undervolted it via software with Notebook
Upgrading K7S41GX from Walmart22 Oct 2005 01:05 GMT6
Hello friendly computer geniuses!
I bought a really cheap PC running Lindows at a garage sale (was
originally from Walmart).  I wiped out Lindows and installed XP, but it
is way too slow.
