is CFM linear? for instance if a 5000 rpm 80CFM fan is run at 2500rpm will the CFM be 40CFM?

Hello all I want some advice on the best option on hsf upgrade I currently have a Volcano 7+ on my xp 2500+ clocked @3200+ (200fsb) and the noise is just so annoying especially when listening to music and at this time of the year I need to have it set on high and its really loud :(

Ok, I'm trying to figure out how to overclock my PC. I know, I know, its slow and old. I have went into Bios, which is by Award, and i can change CPU/DIMM/an some other setting, but the most i can get it to oc is 675.

My xp1700 system used to crash a lot. No rhyme, no reason. I clocked down to xp1500 and it's been working fine. My guess is that my cpu's getting worn out. Fact?
