I just bought two sticks, 512 MB each of PC3200 Corsair Value Select memory
and have ot been able to get them to run at 200 MHz.
My system is a P4-1.8A on an Asus P4S533.  The DIMMS are installed in slots

What is the minimum fps for games?31 Jul 2004 12:23 GMT7
I have seen lots of reviews of videocards and the results are usually based
of fps.  Could someone tell me the *minimum* fps is required for not seeing
"lagging" in games, so that the game runs smooth?  Also, when they say the
minimum fps seen was 6 (for sake of discussion), the ...

10K ohm *programming resistor*". Since I'm not a professional I would
A "little" help needed...31 Jul 2004 09:39 GMT4
OK, I've got this computer that's pretty old, and, to tell you the truth, I
don't have enough cash to buy myself a better one, so I decided to overclock
it in order to increase it "functionality".
But there's a problem. I don't know how :)

barton 3200+ math question30 Jul 2004 17:55 GMT5
i'm awaiting the arrival of my cpu in the mail and have been prepping my
mobo in anticipation, but the math isn't making sense.
the 3200+ batron is definitely a 200mhz FSB, and the mobo definitely
supports it and is configured that way (soyo SY-KT600+).  but what about
ATI good or bad30 Jul 2004 11:30 GMT9
I want a new graphics card to replace my old GF4 Ti 4200.
I've read that the NVIDIA will slot in to my system and work first time but
to add a 9800 or x800 then I would have to get used to editing files and/or
applying patches to enable the card to work at full speed.
What processor for system build?30 Jul 2004 11:18 GMT22
Having done a bit of research, looked at what my supplier (who will do the
actual system build) have available, and decided on my price range, I've
narrowed down my choice of CPUs to the following 5:
AMD Athlon XP 3200+ Barton OEM (400Mhz FSB) (£90.16)
My PC is overclocking itself without me touching it !!!!30 Jul 2004 07:55 GMT6
I had an old Celeron 400 / 256MB RAM.
I formatted it, installed Windows XP and everything went fine.
I was working with it the whole day without touching any settings, or
anything else - just playing solitaire and then shut it down without
how do i tell what AMD CPU I have?30 Jul 2004 06:08 GMT5
Actually, I have a number of old AMD CPUs salvaged as part of old upgrades
and the like.  I'm now trying to fit them to a rogue collection of old-ish
and occasionally new but hardly top-end MBs to make some slightly upgraded
systems for where I work.
Overclocking XP 3200+ on Epox 8RDA3+: PCI bus clock?29 Jul 2004 22:15 GMT3
currently I am running my XP 3200+ at 210 MHz FSB with 2310 MHz real speed.
I am not sure though if changing the FSB also affects the PCI bus clock
on my nforce2 Ultra 400 board Epox 8RDA3+. There is no BIOS option for
adjusting PCI clock speed and I would not like to risk data ...
Intel question29 Jul 2004 21:10 GMT5
ok, I know this has been asked before, for that I'm sorry.
If I got a 3.0GHz 800
how far may I be able to push it on air only.
Price is coming down, and am thinking about getting one.
