I'm having a problem with my printer recently: it takes a blank page
everytime if i do a print
When i uncouple it from the lpt1 port: it still does the same trick: 1
printed and one blank sheet

I suspect that this old HP35480 tape drive is not backing up to
capacity. Possibly  becuase hardware compression is turned on, and the
backup software i am using uses software compression (AMANDA)
I have looked over the mt(1) man page and tried the compression

I wonder if anyone can help with this problem:
I have a 3030 installed via USB and whilst it prints, copies and faxes
fine it will not scan.
Whenever I attempt to launch the HP scanning software I get the message,

When I scan at 300dpi or above with my Scanjet 4p in Windows
2000, it puts randomly placed and colored horizontal bands
in the scan.
Is there something like a color filter motor that's sticking

I bought a HP laptop a while ago (zt3050ea) with the DW-P50A DVD+RW on

I just read that you should use the printer at least once a month
(which I did not do) and not to store a cartridge on its side.  If I
have damaged a cartridge in this way, is there anything I can do to

My printer (HP 630c) will put horizontal lines in color printing.  The
lines are various colors but mostly whitish depending on what color
it's supposed to be printing.  The lines are evenly spaced, a few
