| About power supplies' specifications | 31 May 2008 19:52 GMT | 2 |
Are they designed to work at rooms without air-conditioning? Especially those so-called server-class supplies. Is there a difference between cold and hot climate conditions? Or should I just look for military grade stuff? :)

Why are they so hot? Would it affect its efficiency? I am using a TruePower II 550EPS12V.

Some cards specify both 4x and 8x and most only specify 8x. Can I use any 8x video card in a 4x mobo slot? I just want it to work, don't care if it's half speed. In the future I'll probably use it in an 8x board, just can't see buying a 4x only card at this point.

I have a Compaq SR2027X whose mobo seems to me most like the Asus M2NPV-MX which HP calls "Motherboard manufacturer's name: ASUS A8M2N-LA - HP/Compaq name: Naos-GL6". It is running 2G DDR2 ram with a NVidia GeForce 6150 LE chipset which dedicates 256meg ram to the video, cpu AMD ...
