My cousin bought a HP PC based on Intel G33 chipset. The SATA mode of the chipset by default is IDE and JBOD mode, and Vi$ta was installed. Could I just go to the BIOS to reset the mode to SATA II mode

Would the optimal RAM for a Q6600 (which has a 1066 MHz FSB) be RAM rated at 533 MHz? What if a vendor only offers 667 MHz and 800 MHz RAM? How much of a performance hit would it be to use 667/800 MHz RAM with the Q6600,

Just installed a nice Compaq V1100 monitor, but it's a bit too dark -- and the adjustment button gets 1. message in Spanish (not English) 2. that the adjustment menu is disabled (bloquado).

The newer motherboards have only one IDE connector. In upgrading, I would like to use one of my old IDE/PATA hard drives. Of course I want to run a DVD burner too. Would I have problems putting the DVD and the hard drive on the same

Too lazy to go to Microsoft's website and confirmed this, but I've been seeing references to a service pack 3 for Windows XP. Just a heads up, for what it's worth. I don't know if maybe it's already been mentioned here.

Am I loosing the plot with SATA. This board comes with 2 SATA connections. Older motherboards came with 2 IDEs. The IDEs had master and slave totaling 4 devices. I can only have 2 devices on this motherboard?

I have a CPU its an AMD Athlon "A1333AMS3C" the specs are at: http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K7/AMD-Athlon%201333%20-%20A1333AMS3C.html From other info I have read I get the picture that it should be running at 1.3GHz but win xp and the boot up is saying only 1GHz even with the CPU ...

I have put together a pc from spare parts I got the mobo that someone threw out so I collected it but the boot up is reverting back to factory defaults and the clock changes back to a past time in win xp so I think it is the mobo battery, I tried leaving the pc on for 12 hours ...
