moving SATA drive onto new mobo31 Mar 2008 13:08 GMT16
My old mobo blew so I bought a new ECS board.  I moved my Windows XP
SATA boot drive over to the new mobo.
On the old mobo I  had to set the SATA drive to IDE mode in the BIOS to
get it to work.  The new mobo has no such BIOS setting.  Now when I boot
Small "Uber Case" recommendation?31 Mar 2008 12:59 GMT2
I was listening to the extremetech podcasts and they were quite
impressed with the Antec Mini P180 (http://www.antec.com/us/
productDetails.php?ProdID=81800) so i looked at it on the Antec
website and it seems almost perfect except... its still a bit large
MX3000 combo key/mouse31 Mar 2008 05:14 GMT2
Everything works fine. My problem is that the keys on the keyboard are
starting to 'stick' because of years of dirt. Blowing it out with air
does not work.
I'd like to take the keyboard case off and 'pop' off the keys. Wash
System won't boot?  Mobo and PSU are brand new.31 Mar 2008 04:23 GMT21
A week or so ago, I came home and found my computer dead and unwilling
to boot.  Testing, and replacing the PSU, indicated that the mobo had
become broken somehow.  I replaced the mobo, putting in my old CPU and
RAM (yes, they're compatible), and now the fans power on, which is an

Jelly beans on my screen29 Mar 2008 23:56 GMT15
I have a problem that I think has to do with the DDR 128 ATI Radeon
9800 Pro card in my 5 year old system (Dell Dimension 8200, XP Pro
SP2, 1.25 GB RAM).
When playing DVDs or video files there are vertical lines spaced about
WD 500GB Hard Drives29 Mar 2008 22:38 GMT1
Looks like the 500GB drive is the sweet spot in terms of $/G these
days.  Anyone have any opinion or experience of the WD Caviar SE16
500GB versus the WD Caviar GP500GB?
TIA

this Router to my PC, my PC goes to sleep (after 2 sec; Power led is
flashing). (no matter if it's in Windows or before boot up or in
Linux)

Partitioning?29 Mar 2008 04:47 GMT8
I just replaced my boot drive with a larger Seagate ATA 320 Gig 16 MB
cache on a five year old computer. I used Seagate Tools to copy my old
boot drive to my new drive and all went well. I can now boot from the
new drive.

power supply question28 Mar 2008 20:13 GMT5
I went to boot up my system today and when I pressed the power switch all
the fans in the system started up for a couple of seconds then stopped and
nothing else happened. So I switched from the battery backup to the wall
outlet and tried again and then the fans wouldn't even ...
mouse for notebooks28 Mar 2008 17:48 GMT7
Why are some mice advertised as "Optical Mouse for Notebooks"
I'd like to buy a Logitech V320 cordless optical mouse, but I'd be using it
on a 22" LCD screen.
Would this make a difference in it's performance?
