I'm interested in taking one of my older systems (800 Mhz to 1.4 GHz) and
setting it up to watch videos on my TV.
I will most likely install Ubuntu (linux) due to its ease of use and
stability.

I have a new Samsung 245BW monitor and a new EVGA e-GeForce 6200 LE

vertical yellow bars evenly spaced about 1/4 inch apart.  I can not
reproduce the problem and it only happens every 3rd day or so.  On both

Having a bit of trouble trying to create spanned volumes.  I have a
200GB and an 80GB that I'd like to combine.  I have no problem

I have a year old home built system.  Added a IDE drive to format, and
know my machine won't boot.  I took out the IDE added drive, and even
removed my other CDRW IDE device.  Still hangs up boot before getting
to login screen.  When booting with command prompt/safe mode it gets
Computer will NOT recognize DVD Burner?? what to do?29 Nov 2007 16:46 GMT14
I have a computer that, of all DVD Burners I've tried, refuses to burn
any dvd. It gives some error saying either the drive isn't installed

I've already swaped out and tried 3 different drives, rebooted and
Life of a new motherboard29 Nov 2007 16:40 GMT11
If I buy a new motherboard, and put it at the shelf, and never power it
up. How long could it last?
Would its electronics be killed by seasonal changes?

How to decide which video card?29 Nov 2007 16:28 GMT3
I'm building a budget $1000 PC for email, surfing, photo editing and
some low-end gaming (little, if any, 3D gaming).   I'd like the PC to
be Vista-ready and good for 5+ years.   I'd like a PCIe video card,
possibly GeForce, DVI connection for an LCD, close to or not much over
