I was just about to buy an LG GSA-H62N from directron.com for $30 plus ship, but then read a few reviews, and found that the drive is riplocked. It took almost 30 minutes to rip most movies. I currently have a 16X BENQ DVD-ROM drive installed, and I get rip times

My CPU (Athlon 2700+) is running hotter than I'd like, typically in the low 50s C at idle and low loads with ambient temps in the mid- to upper 70s. The tower sits inside a computer desk with a door and the opening is only about 1" wider than the case. I'm trying an experiment ...

I've connected the Dell 531s desktop to my TV to act as a simple media PC for on-line video streaming. Same TV has a RCA audio/video input from the cable TV STB. I see a very strong distortion now on both audio and video signals coming from the STB. The interesting part is

I was running out of letters on a Win 2000 Pro SP4 computer. I decided to remove the small logic units and to build a greater partition. Windows begins to format it then stops @ 100% telling that the disk was too large for a FAT32.
