Currently I'm using a Intel P3 800 + Intel D815EPFV based system as a
trivial home server. The main objective to use an older cpu is to run
at low power. The machine operates between 45watts to 55 watts @ 120
volts depending on the hard drive usage. I'm completely satisfied with

I have a barton 2500+ XP with the stock cooler and in ~23C ambient
temps I have 40/42 sys/cpu and under load I have 50/53. One of my
cooling fans lost a blade in a freak pencil falling incident and
naturally developed vibrations that were giving me white-finger lol.

I am going to build a Core 2 Duo machine and wanted to know what power
supply I should be looking for, would a 600 watt be ok?
Anyone recommend a good 'quiet' make please?

where can i find them in the uk as they dont seem to have any just alcohol
based glass cleaners or anionic/nonionic cleaners dont ask me for the last
one, im baffled about it myself

I have made an XP drivers disk for my P4SCT mobo.  I have changed my
bios to RAID.  I have made an array RAID 0 and made it bootable.  I
have 2 SATA 160G WD hard drives.
When I run XP SP2 setup disk I press F6 and load the driver disk from

I have two Toshiba laptops, one brand new, and the other a couple of years
old (Satilite models).  The clocks tend to be off on both models.  I'm
thinking this is some kind of Toshiba thing.  I've tried doing all the

I am planing to buy a computer with the configuration given below. The

When I push the power button, nothing turns on.
I replaced the power supply, didn't help.
I replaced the video card, didn't help.
I checked the motherboard for visable capacitor rupture.  None.

My CPU fan just died on my main system.  The motherboard is an ASUS A7N8X-E
Deluxe.  I heard the alarm and shut the system down just as the CPU temp
was approaching 56 deg. C, so I'm sure the processor has suffered no
damage. So, I'm hoping I can just replace the fan, it's held on ...
