What would be a recommended CPU of the below...
E6850 3 GHz Core 2 Duo or a Q6700 2.66 GHz Core 2 Quad Processor..?
In other words, is it better to get the Quad core with a lower clock
speed over a higher clock speed on a dual core CPU...?

Hi, I have 2 IDE drives in my pc.
one has a backup image, done with Acronis, of my main drive,
which I have used on several occasions to restore my pc.
My motherboard, an Asus A8V deluxe, also takes SATA drives.

It's been about 4 years since I built my last system and looking to
now build a new system.  A bit confused about all the chipsets out
there now and which one is the latest and greatest.  I am going to be
