What would be a recommended CPU of the below... E6850 3 GHz Core 2 Duo or a Q6700 2.66 GHz Core 2 Quad Processor..? In other words, is it better to get the Quad core with a lower clock speed over a higher clock speed on a dual core CPU...?

I have 8 GB of RAM, Compaq 306432-001 modules (256MB SDRAM PC100 CL3 ECC registered). Are there motherboards which work with this kind of RAM and support the Pentium 4 (socket 478 would be nice)?

Hi, I have 2 IDE drives in my pc. one has a backup image, done with Acronis, of my main drive, which I have used on several occasions to restore my pc. My motherboard, an Asus A8V deluxe, also takes SATA drives.

I never really thought it would, but 1 Gig of memory instead of 512 MB really makes a difference. I'm running Windows XP with SP2, and have a PCChips V21G motherboard, with onboard Via C7 1.5 GHz processor.

I have a system to which I want to add SATA RAID controller and an enclosure to hold the drives. My ultimate desire would be perhaps a RAID level 5 with 5 drives. Not certain that I'll start like that, though.. I might start with a level 1+0.
