Intel vs AMD31 Aug 2007 21:29 GMT4
If you had $200 which CPU is better for building a $1200 PC with
standard operations and typical use (light gaming, Internet, some
spreadsheet and multimedia use)?   I thought AMD has been a better
value in the past and cooler running but has Intel taken the lead? Or,

Does 1024x768 look weird on a 19" LCD monitor?31 Aug 2007 12:43 GMT18
My eyes aren't that great, so this is the resolution I currently use on my
17" LCD.
Does anyone know if this resolution will stretch or squish text and images
on a 19"?

Video problem - should I worry?30 Aug 2007 07:50 GMT8
Turned on my basement computer today (only use it about 3 times/week), the
screen said "no video signal" or something like that and I heard alternate
high/low sounds from the computer (almost like the sirens on foreign police
cars.)  Disconnected and reconnect both ends of the video ...

Re-booting at startup30 Aug 2007 03:08 GMT6

boot into WinXP, then the hard-drive slows down slightly, and the PC goes
back through the mem-test and bootup.  If you try to go into safe mode, it
starts to boot into WinXP (shows the long series of drivers ...

Quiet Down PC Power Supply--Not a Fan Problem29 Aug 2007 18:05 GMT2
I have an Enlight 350W power supply that has been doing a fine job for
several years. In fact, it is still doing a good job but has recently
developed a high-pitched whining noise. It is not the cooling fan. I opened
up the supply, and the noise seems to eminate from a section ...
How to set RAID up ?29 Aug 2007 13:50 GMT4
I just bought Foxconn P35A-S motherboard. It suppose to have RAID
capabilities but manual is so poorly written that it only mentions it
once briefly and I don't really know how to set it up. I'm planning to
install Windows XP Pro in RAID 0 on two drives (bootable of course).
