needed a new motherboard. I didn't have enough cash to do a major
upgrade so I decided to get a ASRock 4COREDUAL-VSTA  PT800. With this
board I was able to keep my current RAM and graphics card. I figured

First, DON"T post using anything but plain text, most servers won't send it.
I couldn't repsond to you at all.
Second, for your mobo, go to newegg.com and search for either an Asus or MSI
board based on your needs.

I am not familiar with them and I just need a performance boost and I
would like to go dual channel with my P4 2.8 ghz Intel D CPU on an Asus

Is there any hints of a company coming out with a soundcard
that uses one of the pci-e slots?  The new MBs seem to have
more pci-e type slots than the old "legacy" pci slots.
Newegg Return Policy24 Jun 2007 17:19 GMT2
It looks like newegg has tightened up their return policies.  I bought an
LCD TV from them a while back and do not remember the 'no return' policy, if
they had it back then.
However, now they have a category of items, including TVs which essentially
