Is it possible to return defective hardware directly to Asus ?03 Jun 2007 04:21 GMT3
I am wondering if it's possible to return defective hardware directly
to Asus and get a new/repaired motherboard ?
For example the supplier (iComputers.nl) (internet store in Holland)
could have registered the motherboard when I bought it.
Samsung SyncMaster 305T03 Jun 2007 04:18 GMT1
The SyncMaster 305T performed well in our image quality tests, showing
sharp text and nuanced color. Jurors were impressed with the 305T's
rendering of text in a Microsoft Word document, as well as in a screen
of repeating E's and M's.
Hard drive mounting problem03 Jun 2007 04:16 GMT11
I just got a used IBM netvista 1000mhz computer.  It's all in working
order except when I carried it in the house I that hard drive fell out
of the bay.  The bay is wider than the drive by less than one half
inch, with a wider slot below, but there are no screw holes for the
Making On-Screen text clear and Readable03 Jun 2007 01:24 GMT1
You can change the display settings to make viewing text and graphics
on the monitor screen easier. If you increase the resolution of the
screen, it results in a smaller font, making text blurry. So you
should ideally increase the font size by tweaking the monitor
Hard Drive LED Shows HDD Activity AND CD-ROM Activity03 Jun 2007 01:15 GMT3
It's the oddest thing... I have a Biostar P4M80-M4 Motherboard. I have
a WD hard drive attached to SATA and a CD-ROM attached to PATA. But
the LED for the hard drive will light up for both the hard drive
activity AND any CD-ROM activity. There doesn't seem to be any

How much do I have to spend for a monitor AB switch?
My friend would like to run two computers with one monitor.
So far the only switches I have found to do this with have been 115
dollars.  Such as http://www.vpi.us/vidsw-pc.html

Nvidia 570 chipset temperature too high?02 Jun 2007 13:54 GMT5
I've recently tried two different motherboards based on the nvidia 570
chipset, the Abit KN9 Ultra and the MSI K9N Platinum.
Both of these boards use passive heat syncs to cool the chipset but they
both get really hot.
having trouble installing XP02 Jun 2007 06:28 GMT3
I'm trying to install XP on a new build. (I've used this CD recently
to re-install it on it's origimal machine, no problems: I don't think
the CD is bad.) During installation, it says it can't copy some files,
hit escape to continue. So I do, and it gets vey far along and setup

question about backups01 Jun 2007 21:29 GMT4
I'm needing to upgrade my laptop to xp2 and need to backup a few
directories. Now I picked up some Memorex music CD-R's and remember
reading on the plastic packaging that they could be used to burn data as
well as music but I fail to be able to backup any files on them. Can
Will XP 64 like this system?01 Jun 2007 13:58 GMT14
I think it's time to upgrade, my mobo's going on four years old, and I'm
still using Windows 2000 Pro.
Thinking about trying XP 64, but I read a lot about driver problems, but
very few specifics.  Also have considered Linux, but might take my old
