Re: Computer randomly rebooting07 Jun 2007 02:28 GMT2
Seems the issue is related to the motherboard.  As I've tried 3
different types of memory.  I'll be rebuilding my system with an Asus
board instead of this ECS junk.

I have to get some files off of an old Maxtor IDE hard drive. I have

I have recently built a PC.  It worked fine for around 2-3 weeks.
After this it sometimes locks up (i.e. no mouse/keyboard response &
cannot ping it from another PC).  This happens at seemingly random
intervals and sometimes happens when the PC is not doing much.

Neither of these work at critical stages of booting pc, eg. I've just
installed a second os, and the keyboard fails at the point where I need to
hit a couple of keys to select which os. I have to connect a wired KB just
to do this.
