in device manager it shows the pci ide controller but in my computer doesn't show that drive... teh drive is formatted and everything but it's not showing up any ideas or how to get it to show

A while back, my 120GB IBM HD failed. I was able to remove it from the case, and using an old technique a friend mentioned once (set it flat, as it was installed on its side) was able to retrieve the information off of it.

My mobo has 4 sata connectors (reading from mobo manual - ASUS P5LD2), 2 ITE EIDE connectors AND a primary IDE connector. The DVDRW and the DVD drive are currently connected to the primary IDE connector using the original HD cable that came with the mobo.

I just bought a USB IR adapter. After installing the driver, WinXP identifies it as Kingsun SF-620. As you can probably guess, I can't get it to work. It won't connect to my nokia 6170, 6100 or zire71. I've googled the net & found numerous posts relating to problems with this unit & ...
