I would like to add a CD and DVD storage device to my new setup. I often find that I like to save/backup files (Image files... jpgs and RAW, etc...) in folders that are greater than 700 Megs, the normal CD is not enough. Hence, store on a DVD. Any recommendations in this regard?

My hard drive has started making a very faint humming noise when it spins. Kind of like an insect you would hear outdoors, if that makes sense, not a loud grinding noise. Is this something to worry about? Is this a pre-cursor to something serious?

I've seen various harddrive fans and I wonder if they make a difference. I see how the ones that go in front of a harddrive could work, but the ones that attach below a harddrive don't look like they would have enough room to move air. What's the scoop?
