I just upgraded to an Athlon XP 2200 (strangly, I bought a 2100, but the dealer sent me a 2200 instead) and a Shuttle AK38 motherboard. The whole thing worked fine for about three days. The only strange part was that the Shuttle board has no way to set the clock multiplyer

We all want efficient cooling and a quiet case. (I think?) My question: Do the better quality PSU's generate less heat that el cheapos? My PSU seems to be the main source or radiated heat in my box.

I have never put together an Intel based PC. I noticed that many of the barebone systems on newegg.com for Intel have much smaller wattage power supplies. Is that normal for Intels or do I have to get a high wattage power supply like the 300w ones for AMD? Thanks
