RAM problem / question28 Feb 2009 20:26 GMT10
I have an Asus A8N-VM CSM mobo. It ran fine for 2 years, but with only 512
megs RAM things got a little crowded, so I decided to double the RAM.
I bought a 512 MB DDR PC3200 stick (cheapest OEM available), and installed
it. As far as know, this is the right type RAM for the mobo.

I have a floppy disc that was formatted in a Brother WP-70 old word

the WP-70. If I put the disc into a windows XP PC it just doesn't want
to know and asks me if I want to format the disc. I also tried the

I'd like to ask for your help in selecting a motherboard for an
AMD Phenom II X4 920 CPU. It's not that I'm too lazy to do my own
search, but my broadband ISP has been on the blink for several
days and it's difficult to gather enough info on a balky dial-up

If I get a new barebones computer, can I just hook-up my existing boot hard

weird Xerox Phaser 8560N printer noise25 Feb 2009 18:35 GMT3
This printer we've got (a Phaser 8560N) is perfectly functional but
keeps making continuous humming noise. We know it is not normal as we
have 2 other printers of the same model that do not make the noise.
Has anyone experienced this? Any idea what may be causing it?

Looking for Pentium III Processor (1.0 GHz)25 Feb 2009 05:59 GMT3
I am looking for a Pentium III, 1.0 GHz, socket 370, for my old
computer.  I would prefer the retail version which includes heatsink and
fan.  A search through the Internet brings up several places selling the
OEM version only, most of them used and/or refurbished.

whining noise from laptop speakers22 Feb 2009 23:34 GMT6
My HP Pavilion laptop has started making a whining noise through the
speakers. It is most annoying when the CPU fan starts spinning, but I can
