I can't record sound from a microphone. Have tried the windows recorder and two webcam apps. I have a QuickCam Web, and concede that that mic may be dead. It shows though in Device Manager and that the drivers are there and working.

I have a new HDD arriving Monday under warranty and must give the old corrupt drive to the courier in exchange. The old drive does fire up into windows after about 6 hours and it is possible to access some of my business data, letters, invoices, banking etc.

Is there a program that will allow me to create an ISO image from a data folder? I don't want to have to copy the data folder's files to a RW disk first to then make an ISO image using MagicISO. How?

Is there any way to make an old (1994 era) Conner CFS420A hard drive work with a USB to SATA/IDE adapter? When I hook up the CFS420A to the adapter it spins up OK and is recognised by name in the Device Manager (running Vista Home Premium)
