| USB 1.1 vs 2.0... | 30 Jun 2007 20:22 GMT | 5 |
The USB connectors on the fronts of a few of my computers don't work. I'll get the message that the device isn't recognized, etc. I can connect a usb jack that would go in an expansion slot, but usually these cables are just long enough to reach from the back of the case to the

| 56k modem + Windows Vista | 30 Jun 2007 13:17 GMT | 17 |
Simple question that I haven't found an answer to yet. I'm trying to find a simple 56k modem that has a Windows Vista driver. Every modem I've found so far only states Win98/SE/2000/ME/XP. Would the XP driver work, or is there a real Vista modem driver out there somewhere?

| 256MB is missing and 1GB DDR400 works slow | 30 Jun 2007 00:07 GMT | 3 |
I bought a 1GB DDR400 module recently. When I tried to use it with my 512MB DDR400, BIOS could detect only 1.25GB, so 256 MB was missing. 512MB module or 1GB module work quite fine separately and BIOS detects the correct amount.

| About partitioning hard drives. | 29 Jun 2007 02:45 GMT | 12 |
A friend gave me an ancient Compaq Armada 1584 DMT laptop with a bad hard drive. I replaced the hard drive with one that has a 40 gb capacity and the computer's BIOS will only recognize about 8 gb of the total capacity. In fact, it would only partition it as such.
