Does anybody know how Windows 98 handles joysticks and control pads?
I've got USB controllers disappearing, and I don't know enough about
the OS to even know where to start looking.
I'm assuming it uses a combination of DLLs and entries in the

I have two PCI slots -- One has a multi-channel sound card in it, the
second has another multi channel sound card in it. (Yes I need both,
as I record bands on a regular basis and need all the channels that

Hi. Got a C2D E6600 with stock heatsink. Installed it on Friday without
too much issue (I thought). But this morning it's just been cutting out

My Vaio laptop hard drive is constantly clicking whilst I am sitting on a
web page which has flash graphics.  Is this normal behaviour?  If it is,
are there quiet 2.5" drives available that anyone can recommend?

The only external devices I can get to work on any of my usb ports

I have an MXL V63M microphone connected to a preamp.  To go from the
preamp into the sound card, I do this:
Preamp XLR output - > XLR convertor to 1/4" cable -> 1/8" jack
convertor -> sound card mini mic input

My computer clock looses 2-4 minutes per week.  It is set to
synchronize automatically, but the sync takes place only once per
week. Can I set the synchronization to take place daily - or can I do
something to make the clock more accurate?
