I know there are external hard drive "solutions" that plug into a network through ethernet or wireless, etc, but I've noticed there's always proprietary software involved in formatting the disk or installing an app to get the thing working from other machines on the network.

I have a Dell Demension 9200 with a measly 375W PSU. Is there anyway I can add another PSU to power some of the peripherals like raid-5 HDs, etc? I'm not looking for hot swap/redundancy, just some addional juice. Thanks.

Like a moron I accidentally ordered 2 IDE drives instead of SATA.... I don't really wanna pay newegg 28 bucks to restock and then buy new ones(which i may end up having to do i guess).... I've been looking into converting IDE to SATA... and i've found neat products like these.

I noticed that, when I use WPA AES encryption on my wireless network, I get disconnected a lot. Is there another encryption scheme that's less likely to disconnect me? Thanks.
