To All Cognoscenti, Greetings!
When running Norton Ghost, the opening screen displays the following for
both HDDs: "S.M.A.R.T. capability disabled." Should I be concerned? If so,
how can I enable S.M.A.R.T. capability in Windows XP Prof?

Need new PCI Express board.30 Nov 2005 02:58 GMT11
Then I need to look for a PCIE board that offers 4-5 slots for add-ons.
Never seem to find boards with more than that.  I've always liked the ASUS
MOBO's, but will look at others.  Not looking for a mega dollar board, but
it would be nice if it would have onboard sound (I will ...

Motherboard causing freezing - Solved29 Nov 2005 21:20 GMT1
I wanted to followup an old previous post about a problem with two Soyo
SY-6BA+100 boards, as the problem seems to be specific to these boards.
The original problem was lockups in Windows, while running with a bus
speed of 133 MHz (which is advertised for this board).  Reducing the

DIY repair of a hard disk?29 Nov 2005 03:32 GMT6
Is it possible to repair a hard disk DIY under some circumstances?
I have some old hard disks that I'd like to stick on a similarly old
computer. One failed suddenly -- BIOS & O/S did not detect it without
warning -- everything was working fine up to that point. Another had a

Where to get CPU fan?28 Nov 2005 23:32 GMT24
I'm not into home-building but hope someone here can advise me on this
please. My MESH Athlon 1800 PC has a CPU fan and it badly needs
